YOU ARE INVITED! CROATIA, AUGUST 14th-21st 2021-2.png

Dobrodošli na anualni program koji objedinjuje ono najbolje od mojeg učitelja Ron van der Posta i mene !
29.7.-5.8.2023. Split-Brač-Vis-Hvar
Svake godine okupljamo prekrasne duše poput tebe sa kojima provodimo nezaboravnih tjedan dana ploveći Jadranom i istražujući sebe u opuštenoj ljetnoj atmosferi.
Jutra su rezevirana za meditaciju, praksu asana gdje ti pomažemo izvući tvoj maksimum, svjesno opuštanje i moćne tehnike disanja.
Na lako pristupačan, zanimljiv i interaktivan način učimo ljudskom postojanju i duhovnosti kroz raznolike vježbe i predavanja.

Hranimo tijelo svježim i zdravim obrocima. Uživamo u slobodnom vremenu odmarajući, plivajući, sup-ajući.
Posjećujemo posebna energetska mjesta i manifestiramo susrete s veličanstvenim dupinima.

Welcome!

3rd edition of our Signature Program !
All our great passions united in this unique yoga retreat!

Imagine this:
Adriatic sea. Serene turquoise bays. Meditation on the boat. Asanas on the beach or on the upper deck. Lectures and discussions about life according to yoga. Making the science of yoga blend into your everyday life. Making it simple and down to earth. Summer breeze in your hair. Fresh plant-based food. Glowing plankton in the night. Dolphins.

A week fully blended into nature. With the focus on yourself and your experience.

What could be better than spending a week in the middle of Mediterranean summer on a beautiful and cozy boat while practicing & learning all the aspects of yoga under the guidance of a renowned international teacher Ron van der Post (NL) assisted with Ana Arapinec (CRO) who will make sure you have everything you might need?

If you want to give yourself a really precious and valuable time, contact us and book this trip.

(And for those who joined us last time: welcome back to the south of Croatia !)

This time we are accommodated by the boat Cicero.

31.7.-5.8.2023. Croatia, Sumartin (Split)

We will board in Sumartin (Split) away from the big crowds and sail slowly towards and around islands Brač, Vis & Biševo (Blue Cave), Hvar and more. Focus on our route will be private spots, serenity, and keeping an eye on dolphin encounters. To understand why we combine all this definitely read further.

We love to organize this trip for you because it truly blends together our love for the summer, sea, dolphins, meditation and yoga practice. Dolphins and the ocean have always been a great passion of Ana and she also studied in that area with a focus on dolphin population study. Dolphin encounters can have a tremendous impact on humans- because of their purity as well as the subtle vibrations produced in their melon (the organ in their head) which are also used in dolphin therapy. As for the yoga part, due to his special experience with his Guru throughout the last 30 years, Ron is an expert in yoga and has a great skill of bringing the yogic philosophy down to earth, living in everyday life.

Summer nights have a truly magical scent to them, especially in the areas we will be visiting with our boat. The boat is spacious, stable and comfortable. There are different kind of cabins available on the boat on the main and lower deck.

Daily program might vary depending on the conditions in nature and what the group will need at a certain moment. We kindly ask you to be a bit open-minded & flexible since we can not predict some of the influences from the outside.

What we would like to provide you is an idea about an approximate daily program which might look like this:

06.00-06.30 meditation
06.30-8.30 asanas
08.30- 09.00 breathing exercises/pranayama
09.00-09.30 meditation
09.30 short tea break
09.40-10.30 lecture/Satsang
10.30 breakfast
free time
16.00-18.00 asanas
18.00-18.30 meditation
18.30 dinner
20.00-21.00 lecture/Satsang

The morning practice will be dynamic and challenging. We will discover the possibilities of the body and we will play with the physical/mental borders. Always with respect for what is possible or not. The challenge is to play, not to reach the final pose. We will talk about the logic behind the poses and of the body, the effect and the purpose of the practical part of the Ashtanga yoga. What is the cause of the limitation and how can we overcome this limitation. Why do we function the way we do. There is a perfect philosophy that is based on the ages of experience of the yogis.

Every day we like to start with early morning meditation, asanas and pranayama and there will be at least one lecture / interactive discussion throughout the day in which we like to go deep into a certain topic.
If there are topics that you would like to discuss during the retreat you can send them already in advance so that we can incorporate them into the program. Also, during the retreat, there will always be an opportunity to ask all the questions you have. Interaction is the way we like to work.

This retreat will be a challenge for those who are already practicing for a while and are looking for more. Those who are curious about the background of what yoga really is.

Those with serious medical problems should consult a doctor for advice and inform us in advance.

The schedule throughout the week can vary depending on the day and several other facultative activities we will organize for you such as dolphin watching and visits to special locations.

About us:
Ron van der Post (1955) is one of the few western students of Brahmrishi Bawraji Viswatma Maharaj. He was educated and trained for many years, before starting his own schools in Holland, France, Suriname and Croatia Guru since the early nineties.
Throughout the years, he went to India many times to travel and study with his Guru throughout India and the Himalayas. Many times his Guru came to Ron’s yoga school to give lectures about philosophy as well as yoga practice. Ron teaches yoga the way it has been done through centuries in the Himalayas. The individual character and process which is undoubtedly the strength of this form of teaching is the core of his yoga training.

It is Ashtanga Yoga in its truest form, with Karma Yoga as the central pillar. Gaining control over the mental and energetic processes that take place in the body is the main purpose of this kind of yoga. The asanas are simply a means of getting a grip on the mental side of yoga. Asanas are not the goal. Special emphasis is put on the 8-fold path of yoga, as described by Patanjali, and the application and use of the Yamas and Niyamas. The individual development of each student is of utmost importance and students are not compared with one another, since yoga is not a competition.
Ron van der Post is trained as a nurse, social worker, psychotherapist, massage therapist, shiatsu therapist and nutritionist. He has been teaching for over 30 years and has trained hundreds of students throughout many countries. He has taught yoga all over Europe, South America and India.

Ana Arapinec (1988), born in Varaždin (Croatia), dedicated her early study years to marine biology, especially marine mammals. After the researching dolphin population in the Zadar area, this path brought her to Sri Lanka where she encountered blue whales and dolphin superpods. She met yoga and Ayurveda there as well and this has slowly changed her life. The biggest changes started when she enrolled in Rons 3 year yoga teacher training in the Netherlands. Through this, an in-depth holistic program she got many answers and found her path. During that time she also studied Ayurveda and nutrition. After living abroad for 6 years she decided to go back to her roots and is now sharing her knowledge about the holistic approach to life through coaching, workshops and seminars in Varaždin, Croatia and Europe. Occasionally she guides inspiring dolphin-watching trips. Ana likes to continuously learn further and take steps on the spiritual path.
Ron and Ana are the founders of Surya International Yoga Study Center in northern Croatia. The goal of Surya IYSC is to be a strong European center for yoga study and research. A center that welcomes everyone who is hungry for knowledge and self-discovery through yogic principles and living in tune with nature.

and something more …

Brahmrishi Bawraji Viswatma Maharaja has been educated in the tradition of the philosophy of Tulsīdās,. In the same authentic way his student, Ron van der Post (1955), has been educated and trained for more than 25 years, and now owns and runs his own yoga teacher training in Nijmegen and Groningen, the Netherlands, and in France (up to 2019 also in Suriname, South America). He has been one of only a few western students of Brahmrishi Bawraji Viswatma Maharaj since the early nineties of the last century. During these years, he has visited and traveled through India extensively, and trained and studied with his Guru in India, and more specifically in the Himalayas. Ron has been trained as a nurse, social worker, psychotherapist, massage therapist, shiatsu therapist and has studied the subject of nutrition intensively. He has been teaching for over 32 years and has trained hundreds of students throughout the country. He has been invited on numerous occasions to teach at yoga clinics or special seminars all over Europe, Suriname and especially in India.

Much love,
Ron & Ana
